The first research meeting of the semester was held on February 7, 2025, at 319 Walters Room, Cremer Hall School of Business. Our researchers began the semester with high energy and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and inquiry. The meeting set the tone for the semester, with new projects, collaborations, and ambitious goals on the horizon.
Highlights from Our First Research Meeting

Welcoming Shaharier to the Team
A notable addition to the team this semester is Shaharier, who brings his expertise in project management to the inauguration of the CyberLab. The CyberLab is envisioned as a control center for data visualization, interactive learning, and cutting-edge technology exploration. Shaharier will be working alongside other researchers, including Emmanuel Duah, to develop and implement this initiative.

Words of Encouragement from Dr. Phillips
Dr. Phillips addressed the team, emphasizing the competitive nature of being a Graduate Assistant and the need for organization and diligence. He reminded us that much is expected from our group and that meeting these expectations requires commitment and strategic planning. His words served as both a challenge and a motivation, reinforcing our collective responsibility toward excellence.

Leadership and New Initiatives
Ikbhal has taken over as the Research Coordinator and is currently spearheading the Global Business Plan Competition. This initiative will involve collaboration with students from Dr. Polly’s entrepreneurship class, fostering an environment where academic research meets practical business application. The competition is expected to be a dynamic and engaging platform for students and researchers alike.
Ongoing Research and Collaborative Efforts
Femi continues his research while also focusing on recruiting international students, a task he will undertake alongside Mary. Their work will play a crucial role in expanding the reach and diversity of our academic community.
Emmanuel Duah is leading an exciting new project on adaptive AI training. This initiative aims to develop a cybersecurity training program that is accessible to anyone willing to invest in it. The project aligns with the growing demand for cybersecurity education and will contribute significantly to workforce development in this critical field.
Looking Ahead
The first meeting of the semester set a strong foundation for what promises to be a productive and innovative period for our research team. With a blend of new initiatives, leadership transitions, and collaborative efforts, we are poised for a semester of impactful research and meaningful contributions to the academic and business communities.
We look forward to seeing these projects come to life and to sharing our progress in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates on our research endeavors and achievements!
